Look!  Up in the sky!  It's a bug; it's a spaceship; it's the size of Manhattan!

Yes, the LEXX is all of those things.  It's a genetically engineered bug grown for His Divine Shadow to use as a spaceship.  Oh, did I forget to mention that it blows up planets?  Well, it does, but only if commanded by its captain.  And if you're looking at the page banner, which has a side view of the LEXX, you're right.  It looks exactly like what you think it does, say no more.
