Hooray, The Princess Bride is coming to DVD on 6/13. It's too late for me to wax poetic about this wonderful and charming movie. I will let Roger Ebert's review do all the talking. One movie I must own.

actually, it was first released on DVD in 2001.

I actually have it on DVD. Actually, I have 2 DVDs of it, because I forgot I bought the first one and bought the second when I saw it on sale for 10 bucks at Target. And it was already released on DVD twice anyway (regular and special editions).
There apparently are going to be two new editions released - The Buttercup Edition and the Dread Pirate Roberts Edition. Slight differences between the two. Apparently the first will focus on the romance and the second on the action. I know they'll sell well, but I personally detest that kind of marketing. First the original DVD. Then the special edition DVD. Now the extra super special editions. Feh. I spent money on the DVD twice already. They will get no more money from me.
