Days of 49
You can always use a meme to take your mind off things.
Seven by seven.
Seven things I plan to do before I die.
- Visit the town in Austria my father was born in.
- Go to Angkor Wat.
- Read "Crime and Punishment", as I've never actually been able to get through the damn thing.
- Buy a Marc Jacobs handbag.
- Drive Route 66, and play every version of the song I can find during the trip.
- Tour Egypt.
- Really learn swing dance.
Seven things I can do.
- Math in my head.
- Type about 100 words per minute.
- Draw a really good version of Marvelous Mark from Doonesbury. The old Marvelous Mark from the 1970s, that is.
- Remember song lyrics really well.
- Quote "The Holy Grail" chapter and verse.
- Put together crappy pre-built furniture from Ikea all by my lonesome.
- Program a VCR, for all the good that does me these days.
Seven things I cannot do.
- Sing well.
- Wean myself off artificial sweeteners.
- Stop feeling guilty.
- Avoid blogging memes.
- Watch "Mommy Dearest". It's the only movie I ever walked out on.
- Get over my fear of heights.
- Leave the house without wearing a little makeup.
Seven things that I find really attractive about the opposite sex.
- Gray hair on a youngish man.
- Cleanliness.
- Wearing a really well-cut suit.
- Hands.
- Butts.
- Making me laugh. I have a weird fetish for comedians.
- Being Canadian. I also have a weird fetish for Canadians.
Seven things I say the most.
- Actually.
- So I've got that going for me.
- Sweet!
- I'm amazed he/she finds his/her way to work each day.
- What the hell?
- Next.
- The.
Seven books I love.
- Dune
- Alice in Wonderland
- Right Ho, Jeeves
- Jane Eyre
- Emma
- The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
- A Wrinkle in Time
Seven people I would like to see take this quiz.
Like I could name seven bloggers who would even listen to me.

Have you ever done this: As the cashier rings you up, you get the exact change ready before she tells you what the total is?

No, because that would mean I had paid attention to the prices before being rung up. I do, however, regularly tell cashiers how much change I'm supposed to get before they've figured it out on the cash register.

I do the cashier thing if it's something I buy often. Two chicken fajitas, for example, cost me $3.70.

I meant for calculating tax: not for a lot of addition
