Windows XP Is Making Me Nuts
Does anyone know how to disable that most annoying of features in Windows XP: if you hold the cursor over an item for a couple of seconds, the item is selected? Please tell me you do. It's driving me up the wall.

Haven't the foggiest. Mine doesn't do that. All I can tell you is that I set everything to emulate older windows and turned off everything that looked fancy.

See if this works:
My Computer ->tools->folder options->General tab
go to "click items as follows" chose "double click to open an item"
if that doesn't work I don't know what else will.

I just checked now. My options were already set that way. There is an option to select an item by pointing, but that's not highlighted, so I don't know why my computer is selecting items simply by pointing at them. Oh well. Thanks for the tip.

If this is on your notebook, check your touchpad settings.
