Fast Turnaround
Yesterday, the jury in the Mississippi Burning case claimed they were deadlocked after 2 1/2 hours of deliberations. Today, they reached a quick decision on a manslaughter conviction. Can't help but wonder whether they mailed this one in, intent on getting through the deliberations as expeditiously as possible rather than taking time to weigh the case seriously.

They may have taken it a bit more seriously than the jury did the first time Killen was tried, years ago. That (all white) jury voted almost unanimously guilty, except for one lady who said she could not stand to vote guilty for a preacher.

Funny how a trial to decide if Michael Jackson touched a boy's peepee took months and months, and a trial to see if a now 80 year old man organized murders 40 years ago was over in a few days...
He hasn't been hiding - he's been living in his community the entire time. Why now? What was the real agenda here?
