A movie that makes me tear up a smidge almost every time is "The Iron Giant".

My son broke down and cried when Godzilla (1998 version) was killed.
guy flick I hated:
Windtalkers - besides the historical inaccuracies (starting with the basic plot, an order to kill a windtalker if they were in danger iof being captured) it was supposed to be about the windtalkers, not Cage.
Chick flick I liked:
Bend it like Beckham

I can't let it go. WHY do you not like Shane?
Posted by: DBrooks | May 3, 2005 12:51 PM
It's been a while since I've seen Shane, several years in fact, so I don't recall all the reasons why I dislike it. One reason is that I didn't like Shane himself. Far from being a heroic character, he struck me as a ruffian who did a lot of unnecessary fighting.

"Solaris" is a 'guy flick'?
No, I think not.

I was debating about Solaris. I was going with the whole sci-fi & Space Station thing plus the male protagonist. But you may be right. Given the whole twist with his wife, it may be more of a sci-fi Chick Flick. Either way, still don't like it. Steven Soderbergh should stick with directing and forget writing.

My wife says Solaris was a chick flick (because of the Clooney factor).
And she says Affleck was the bomb in Bareback man whores #43.
