Mmmm, Steak
But no corn. The restaurant didn't have corn. They did a nice prime rib, though.

No corn in Iowa? Unbelievable.
How about potato? I guess a nice side of pasta is too much to hope for.

Steak and corn? Usually it's steak and potatoes. Just ask Dan Quayle. Sorry, that would be, "potatos".

Well, in Idaho you'd get potatoes for sure, but in Iowa, the corn state? And are you sure it's not potatos?

As the resident expert, Singular is potato, plural is potatoes.
I'ld be willing to bet the lack of corn has to do with the season, they wouldn't have anything fresh. (frozen is ussually fresher than "fresh" since it is flash frozen w/in 24 hours of harvest while "fresh" goes from the field through processing then shipping before it gets to Joe's (Albertson) shelf. The freshness is relative.
And it is Potatoes and Steak. Depending on how the potato is cooked the steak is prepared to compliment it.
I'ld get into it, but then I would have to take off early today ... hmmm not a bad idea, it was almost 70 yesterday, time to fire up the grill. grilled thick cut potato, corn on teh cob and barbecued steak sounds good.

Jon and I were kidding around with the potatos/potatoes bit. My whole family does humor with a straight face so it can be difficult.
In fact, we've been married for nearly 43 years, and sometimes my husband says the most outrageous things, that he horrifies me. The kids just laugh because they know he was kidding, but I don't.
Welcome to the family nut house. ;)
