Phil It Up
Yes, it's Groundhog Day again. I am going to make a prediction. Phil will see his shadow. Yes, six more weeks of winter. I know, with the cold weather we've been experiencing the last couple of weeks (although today is going to be pretty warm, it's quite late for the annual mid-winter thaw), it's a daring prediction.
UPDATE: My daring prediction has come true.

But according to my local paper Phil is right only 39% of the time. OTOH, Staten Island Chuck, who's much more accurate, didn't see his shadow. Good news, I say. ;)

What does that mean exactly? Six more weeks of what, a specific temperature threshold, presents of snow? Or that the days stop getting longer? I’m confused.

I agree with Rick. Whether Phil sees his shadow or not, there's six weeks of winter left. End of story. It's not like the calendar changes and winter somehow ends before the third of March if Phil doesn't see his shadow. Yeah, I can take the fun out of anything, can't I? BTW, if Carlton Fisk does pass away, I will blame you.

It means six more weeks of winter weather. Very cold, no sun, maybe snow, maybe not. And it means the Northeast and Midwest where we actually have horrid winters.

I know what it means. I was ribbing Lesley, that's all.
