Recycling Chanukah 2
Yes, in the spirit of environmentalism, another recyled post!
Tonight is the second night of Chanukah. Continuing with yesterday's musical selections, I have created another playlist. This one is in honor of my grandmother. 3 of the songs are Yiddish, but 2 are not. They are all, however, songs I used to sing with or to my grandmother, whom I miss very much. You can click either on the menorah or the picture of my grandmother as a young woman to bring up the playlist.

something about that picture is so calming, maybe it's the colors?!?
for less serious music on this holiday, some guys did a parody of hey ya by outkast.

I think it's the colors, and the setting which reflects the ease of life in the late 1920's. My mom was about 18 or 19, the picture was professionally handcolored [no color film yet], and the background was taken in small town Spring Valley, NY. We'd go there for summer vacations, and when Lesley and Jon came into the world, we lived about10 miles north of there.
And I miss my mom every single day.

This reminds me of pictures of my mom. She and my dad were young newlyweds in 1928.
