London Bridge Is Falling Down

Clearing up a popular misconception:

This is NOT London Bridge. It is a very beautiful bridge. It's the most beautiful bridge in London. It may be the most beautiful bridge in the world. However, it is Tower Bridge.

This IS London Bridge. It's now somewhere in Arizona, BTW. It's not a very pretty bridge.

Well the tower bridge is "a" London bridge, just not the London bridge. But your rihgt about the London bridge not very sceneic, bet that's why it's in AZ now.

This story may be urban legend, but what the hell. The way I heard the story, the Arizonans who bought London Bridge did so thinking that it was actually Tower Bridge (guess they'd seen some pictures of Tower Bridge). I'm fairly sure that the Brits wouldn't sell Tower Bridge at all. I mean, damn, look at it. Would you sell it? However, London Bridge being rather unattractive, why not sell it to those silly Americans? So, yes, I bet that is why it's in Arizona right now.
