Martha Stewart Jailhouse Living

Well, maybe not actual jail. But we can hope.

BTW, not to toot my own horn (oh, okay, yes, to toot it), but I predicted that Martha would be convicted in the comments to this post.

Let me see if I have this straight. They tossed the charge of insider trading, but found her guilty of lying about commiting insider trading, an act they couldn't prove she did?

What a waste of the legal system's resources. Want to bust up an abusive mega-business? Go after the NCAA. How about the pro sports owners and their abuse of the taxpayers and citizens who happen to own property where the gazillionaire owner that demands the taxpayer to build him a stadium.

Well, I would agree that a better use of legal system resources would be going after Ken Lay and pressing the case against Bernie Ebbers.

I am glad that a jury of her peers has fond it fit to return a verdict of guilty. This is a good thing it still remains to be seen if the conviction stands on appeal.
BUT Lesley...

I never said it would happen. Just that I think it would be a better use of legal resources than the case against Martha was.

To this I agree.
But I can see Martha getting help from Leona the Queen of Mean in how to cope.
Anyway the economy is still in the pits, job recovery is way down from even the lowest numbers that the economist's said they should be, the price of energy keeps raising.
All is well keep a stiff upper lip..
Yeah buddy right.
