Do you honestly feel they are going to convict him? And than send him off to jail.
Kenneth Lay has yet to be charged.
I think Martha Stewart is going to get off.
Now the oil companies are starting to fess up that they have over reported reserves.
And lets not forget about Parmalat, 13 billion.
Companies are bailing out of Michigan and heading to Mexico like water coming out of a faucet, the news reporter (Chris Tye wzzm) said last nite that it is the fault of the consumers that this is happening because they want cheaper prices. Gesh is that a crock I have yet to see GM lower its prices.
He wouldn't dare say the real problem is corporate and large investor greed.
Yet I do agree with the reporter it is the consumers fault, they keep voting the same jerks into office.
Yesterday the Senate was debating and voting on a bill which would have shielded gun manufactures from lawsuits, which would have passed had it not had a few amendments attached to it before the final vote.
IE: a provision to ban assault weapons forever, current provision expires in Sept.
#2 was to require background checks of all people buying guns at gun shows.
Where was GW to support this?????? He said he would support this.
Beats me, maybe he was in the war room plotting for the take over of some other 3rd world country.
Remember American sleep tight our politicians are concerned for our welfare and well being.
Oh yes and BTW before we hire you we need a urine sample to make sure you don't do drugs.
Never mind that I bought a gun at the local gun show and if you piss me off I'll return with it and kill anyone who ticks me off.
I don't know if they'll convict him, although I think it could well happen. Sullivan is going to testify against him, if I read the article correctly. Besides, Bernie was a mega-control freak, so it shouldn't be too hard to convince a jury that he knew what was going on. Undoubtedly the prosecution will bring into evidence the fact that Bernie insisted on personally signing off on any expenditure greater than $1 million.
However, if he goes to jail, I'm sure it will be one of the country club jails. If Martha also goes to jail, maybe they can play some rousing games of Trivial Pursuit. I do think she'll be convicted. I'm not sure she'll actually get the opportunity to start a new magazine entitled "Martha Stewart Jailhouse Living", though.
Jim - I don't actually find the results all that surprising. Martha Stewart is fairly well hated. She has a reputation as being very nasty.
Ricky - Maybe Bernie can start a hedge fund upon his release, a la Michael Milken. Of course, they didn't confiscate all or even most of Milken's assets. I've always wondered precisely how Milken structured the hedge fund so that he didn't violate the consent decree he signed with the S.E.C.

Have you seen the poll at Fox News.

Send him to jail and confiscate his assets. Let him start from scratch when he gets out (in many, many years, one hopes).

Well, if there's anyone who I can say (seemingly, I don't know what goes on beyond my scope) has rehabilitated is Milken. CapCure is a good cause.
