Randomize It

Ricky points me to this meme where you turn on your mp3 player, set it to random, and list the first 20 songs that play, regardless of how embarrassing. So, without further adieu:

  1. California Uber Alles - Dead Kennedys
  2. Down On the Corner - Creedence Clearwater Revival
  3. St. Stephen - The Grateful Dead
  4. Aquarius - The Cast of Hair
  5. Harke All You Ladies - Hogman/Lindberg
  6. Dancing With Tears In My Eyes - Ultravox
  7. Call Me - Blondie
  8. Imagine - Joan Baez
  9. Lie Still, Little Bottle - They Might Be Giants
  10. Popsicle - Talking Heads
  11. Red Rain - Peter Gabriel
  12. I'm Not Down - The Clash
  13. A Zemer - Theodore Bikel
  14. Swamp - Talking Heads
  15. Mercury the Winged Messenger - composed by Gustav Holst, performed by the Toronto Symphony
  16. Pinball Wizard - The Who
  17. Waldstein Piano Sonata - Introduzione - Adagio Molto - composed by Beethoven, performed by Vladimir Horowitz
  18. Tara - Roxy Music
  19. Come As You Are - Nirvana
  20. Chilling Of the Evening - Arlo Guthrie

There was nothing hideously embarrassing there. Harke All You Ladies, for those who don't know, which should be pretty much everybody, is a folk song from Elizabethan England.

I tried this but since I only have a turntable I only got about 6 songs and they were all from the same group.

Yeah. Nothing embarassing there.

I haven't heard that They Might Be Giants tune.

I also wonder how many people still listen to the Dead Kennedys. I kind of like X and the Sex Pistols from the "classic punk" era, but the Dead Kennedys don't wear that well, do they?
