Pessimism

Elayne points out several bloggers who agree with Atrios' contention that the new Republican "out-to-get-Howard-Dean" meme is to make him out to be pessimistic. Count me in. Over the last couple of months, I have noticed several Bush supporters, who are members of a politics forum I participate in, consistently decry Dean as pessimistic. They talk about how his campaign is negative. That all he can do is attack Bush. That he never offers any positive solutions. And yet, ironically, so many articles posted by these same Bush supporters are attack articles about Howard Dean. I propose they take a literacy test in which they have to construct a sentence using the words "pot", "kettle", and "black".

Incidentally, anyone actually interested in Dean's proposed solutions is invited to visit his website and read his stance on the issues. He, in fact, does have actual proposals, despite claims to the contrary.

I think all the Repubs are nattering nabobs of negativism, myself.

Dean IS running a smear campaign cirticizing the war with no plan to get our troops home any sooner than the Republicans.

I think Dean should get off his high horse, considering he supported a different Congressional referendum to go to war. Furthermore, he has no exit plan, nor would he end the occupation of Iraq if elected. In the New Hampshire debate eariler this month, he said we'd surely be in Iraq several more years. If he were the only true anti-war candidate, as he touts, he would support a UN in US out exit plan such as Kucinich, Braun, and Sharpton support.

PS--I am not in any way, shape, or form a Republican or a Bush fan. I'm just not going for Dean's bull puckies. You want to see plans on the issues? Go to www.kucinich.us and stand corrected.

Stand corrected on what? Those are Kucinich's stances on the issues. That does not preclude Dean from also having stances on the issues. I even have stances on the issues. You may not agree with them, but that doesn't make them non-stances. Or even non-plans, if you prefer the term plans to stances.
