Mine's Nienna Ancalimë. As beautiful as all Elven words.

You have a Hobbit name too. Mine's Dimple Knotwise of Michel Delving. Hobbit Name Generator.

Tári Oronrá is my elvish name (oooooh)
and Tigerlily Smallburrows of Sandydowns ( i quite like that for a hobbit name)

I am Fëanor Isilrá

I'm just finding some of those names a little strange. Some are actual Quenya hybrids: Saralonde, for example, but others are names straight out of Tolkien's works. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but /most/ people on here seem to be girls, but a lot of hte names they're given actually belong to MALE Elves.
For example: Nienna is a 'Goddess' if you will, one of the Valier; Ancalime is the name of one of the Queens of Numenore, Idril is a princess of the Noldor, Fingolfin a prince of the Noldor (And Idril's grandfather), Celebrian is Elrond's wife and mother of Arwen, the word tari is in there, which means queen, and Feanor was the greatest of the Princes of the Noldor.
So truth be told, they aren't really 'your' Elvish name. The best way I can recommend to come up with sommat that really fits you is to think of the meaning you want to portray, find all of the available words giving that meaning or something similar, and play about arranging them. You can come up with some really beautiful sounding names. For example (As a guy's name) Narthelion means 'dauntless fire', Idracuil 'precious life', etc.
And just another little (pointless) tidbit....any of you familiar with the place in Numenore called Emerie? That just happens to be a form of the Quenya word 'mer', meaning to wish, or want...and actually means 'has wanted'. :P

You're absolutely right that the name generators don't come up with names that are related to the individuals that get them. The names are based entirely on the spelling of your actual name.

When I went to the site I put in the names of some relatives, just for fun. My sister-in-law, who has the same last name I do, but an entirely different first name came out as Nienna Ancalimë too. And people who post to this blog's comments and have the same last name came up with the same last Elven names.

hey Iam Katie and my elvish name is:Tári Anwamanë

I am Nessa Celebrindal in elvish and Ruby Bumbleroot of Fair Downs in Hobbit!!

Elvin: Nienna Sáralondë

Hobbit: Dimple Burrows

My Elvish name is: Napolde Ar-Feiniel. (I think this name sounds regal and sophistcated.)
My Hobbit name is: Lara Grubb of Little Delving (I think this one is cool, too!)
With the discovery of my 2 "Tolkien" names, I have come up with a great idea for a story in Middle Earth.
Look for it one day...
