About Last Night

Sad. Truly sad. The Yankees had multiple opportunities to score runs and fluffed all but the 1st. Jason Giambi is useless. The only thing he can do well is hit, and he can't even do that this year. Although it wasn't all his fault. The rest of the team wasn't capitalizing on scoring opportunities either. Ah well, tonight's another game.

Oh and Go Cubbies!

A fly ball. My kingdom for a fly ball. That's all the Jason man needed to come up with to drive home a run in the 5th, and he pops to center field. Sigh.

Looking back on that play, they should have sent Soriano, despite Giambi not doing his job and hitting it far enough. Damon has a weak arm and on the throw, Jeter would have made it to third. I think you have to take a shot when it's that close.

Depressing loss tonight. To vent, here are some additions to the useless (and useful) categories on the Yankees:

Ever more useless: Jason Giambi
Also useless: Aaron Boone and the entire bullpen except for Rivera
Useful: Mariano Rivera, the starters save for Mike Mussina, Derek Jeter, Karim Garcia, Jorge Posada, and Nick Johnson
Somewhere in the middle: the rest of the team
