The Yankees tried to put us out of Jeff Weaver's misery. That didn't last too long. Now, there's word that the Yanks are most upset with David Wells and may take him out of the rotation (likely for one start only). Gulp - that means Weaver is back in. At least Weaver won't pitch against the Sox in the upcoming most important series. In the meantime, I am sacrificing my Yankees cap to attempt to appease the gods of baseball. Last week, I gloated about how well the Yankees were doing and how poorly the Red Sox were doing. Now the Sox have gained 2 games. Whoops!

Must not gloat. Must not gloat. Yankees took 2 of 3 against the Red Sox this weekend, which is a good thing. It gives the Yankees some breathing room and is better than losing 2 of 3. (Great insight, no?) But I shan't gloat. Too many games left. Another series with the Red Sox coming up this weekend.

One should also note there is evidence to suggest that the proximity of Mars to Earth, this year, may have weakened The Bambino's Curse.
