Maybe People Opposed To Smoking Bans Should Take Note

A marijuana legalization group is sponsoring a road clean-up in Michigan. One of the anti-legalization advocates quipped, "We can be sure all the marijuana butts will be cleaned up on that road." I wish that people opposed to smoking bans would take a hint. I don't know how bad it is in other cities, but the sidewalks and streets of New York City are littered with cigarette butts, some not fully put out. That always ticks me off. If you want to smoke and ruin your health, be my guest. But at least have the decency to clean up after yourself.

I guess you'll be at the head of the list on the chewing gum ban too, right? If you take a close look at the NYC sidewalks, I think you'll find at least as many instances of discarded chewing gum as cigarette butts.

No, I already said that if people want to smoke and ruin their health, they should go right ahead. If people want to chew gum, they should do that too. Both should clean up after themselves, though. I will say that chewing gum doesn't pose a fire hazard, though. Still-smoking cigarette butts can. I make a habit of stepping on them whenever I see them.
