I was in Tampa when the arbitration was going on over the right of USF to fire this guy. I read through some of his poetry and looked at a few of the organizations he had supported or founded. It was a mystery to me why the guy had a job to be fired from in the first place. Doesn't anybody do even a little bit of a background check? He was the editor in chief of some now-failed radical islamic rag. His poetry urged mothers to send their kids out to kill jews and not to cry over them but to celebrate their death. I might hire him to attach blasting caps to tnt while charged with static electricity, not educate young adults.

The most unbelievable thing is that USF knew everything about him for approximately 8 years. People from all around the country sent thousands of emails to USF's president, demanding that he be fired. All of this was long before 9/11.
