Vote For The Celebrity Of Your Choice, But Vote!
Alan has put up a new poll asking the timely question Who is the most annoying anti-war celebrity? So far France is in the lead (although I feel that referring to France as a celebrity will puff up their already out-sized egos, the only reason I did not cast my vote for them), with a 3-way tie between Sean Penn, Bianca Jagger, and Susan Sarandon for second place. My only question - Where is Viggo Mortensen's name? I think he's just the most annoying anything celebrity. No, really. If I were asked to name the most annoying female celebrity, I'd say Viggo Mortensen. He's just THAT annoying.
UPDATE: I'd value shares of Viggo Mortensen at £0.00. Better yet, though, he's not even listed.

Well, as you can see here, I'm not at all averse to celebs speaking out about politics. They're citizens too, for goodness sake. If I were famous by God I'd be doing it too.

Who said I was averse to them speaking out about politics? I regularly refer to politicians as annoying or worse for speaking their views. Politicians are also citizens. Citizens get criticized. Famous people get criticized more publicly than non-famous ones simply because more people know about the famous ones. One of the downsides of being famous.
The way I see it, there are risks and rewards to becoming a celebrity. One of the risks is that you become a target for people's criticisms. This is not news; it's been going on for ages. The reward is that you are highly, highly compensated for your troubles. Some of these guys make more on one movie than most of us will ever see in a lifetime. I don't think that a little derision is a high price to pay for that kind of lucre. Besides, if the worst thing that ever happens to Viggo Mortensen is that I refer to him as the most annoying celebrity in the world on an obscure website, he's got a wonderful life.
But if it makes you feel better, I think Charlton Heston is really annoying too. And a bad actor, to boot.

Regardless, we someone to come make the difference in what's become a tight race between Susan Sarandon and France ...
