...but has no real power. The Iraqi parliament unanimously voted to reject the U.N. Security Council resolution requiring the return of weapons inspectors, despite efforts by Saddam's son Uday to get a "Yes" vote. However, Saddam makes the final decisions in Iraq, and the parliament can only make recommendations. This may well be just a show of defiance, with Hussein overriding their recommendation. Hussein has until Friday to decide.
Should Iraq not accept the resolution, "there will obviously be a use of force," according to French Foreign Minister Dominique de Villepin.
