Jeeves and Wooster

Jeeves and Wooster Blandings Castle Uncle Fred And The Rest

Bertie Wooster

Bertie Wooster was a rich and lovable dimwit.  Fortunately for young Bertram Wooster, he was rich enough not to have to work.  One wonders if Bertie could have ever really held down a job.  He was always falling in love with the wrong girls, and Jeeves was constantly extricating him from these unfortunate entanglements.  Bertie always knew how lucky he was to have Jeeves.  Well, he might sometimes forget for a space when they had a disagreement over his soft shirts (Jeeves was a stickler and wanted nothing to do with that fashion) or his spats in the colors of Eton, but at the end, Jeeves came through and Bertie got rid of whatever article of clothing had offended Jeeves.

Jeeves

Although many people believe Jeeves was a butler, he was actually a valet.  Jeeves was the perfect "gentleman's gentleman."  He was deferential (except when his fashion sense was offended), quiet, and, somehow, always on the spot when you needed him.  Which in Bertie's case was rather a lot.
